Rural housing, affordable housing and speaking the language of an unaffordable hearth

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The causes and effects of unaffordable housing, and the viability of the proposed solutions has been sought and considered. Drastic measures are needed in order to maintain affordability and accessibility of housing. Affordable housing ensures that house prices are affordable on a more general level than is currently the case. Controlling the housing market would also ensure that the effect of the population shifts do not alter the population dynamic, and in the Welsh context, the linguistic dynamic of the community. This in turn, would ensure that communities are sustainable and that people are better able to live close to where they work-something that is likely to bring significant environmental benefits.
