Abstract

Further study of Upper Cretaceous non-marine Ostracoda from several different intertrappean localities in the Deccan Volcanic Province, India, has yielded new species and new finds. This paper describes and illustrates eight species: two are new (Altanicypris deccanensis and Cypridopsis legitima), four others (Paracypretta elizabethae Whatley, Bajpai & Whittaker, P. jonesi Bhatia & Rana, Zonocypris spirula Whatley & Bajpai, and Cyclocypris amphibolos Whatley, Bajpai & Srinivasan) are described for the first time from their respective new localities, and the remaining two - a Limnocythere and a Gomphocythere, which are probably new - are for the moment left in open nomenclature.
