N1 - Exhibition/conference proceedings. This project wll be initially centred on the production of a 'mapping event' which will be conducted by local Young FarmersÆ’?? Clubs. The object of the event will be to map the location and photograph the condition of milk stands in Ceredigion. This study will form the focus for a series of recordings of audio interviews between young farmers and those of older generations concerning the condition, value and relevance of local cultural and industrial heritage. The project s closely associated with the work of Cwmni Theatrr Cydweithredol Troed-y-Rhiw, and constitutes a necessary investigation into the kind of culturally-specific memory and discourse which is a vital context to the performance work of that company. The photographs and interviews will form the basis of an exhibition which will be presented as part of a conference on rural communities, sustainability and culturally-specific memory and performance. The mapping event is proposed for 2011 and the conference and exhibition for late 2011 or early 2012.

N2 - This output uses the production of an online map to denote the performance of traversing and searching the ‘native’ landscape and to examine the relationship between the researcher and the industrial and cultural heritage of the place. The online map is defined as a multiscale representation of the performance space which replicates this multi-layered relationship: it constitutes a document of the journeys undertaken through the landscape and also a set of instructions to potential participants. The output also includes photographs of the stands discovered during the performance, and provides evidence of their current use and status.
